Bullet hits Ludhiana Congress leader’s car, police probe if it was ‘intentional’

Former Punjab Congress MLA Sanjay Talwar’s car was hit by a bullet at his home in Ludhiana. The police are probing whether it was accidental or intentional.
Talwar’s son had parked the Toyota Innova outside his residence in Ludhiana last evening. On Saturday morning, their security officer saw the car had bullet damage. The bullet hit the side window of the back seat.
“We don’t know if this was accidental or intentional, but it’s certainly worrying,” Talwar told India Today TV.
Senior police officers said a bullet from a .315 bore weapon had hit the car, and they were looking into whether celebratory firing was involved.
“There were claims of celebratory gunfire, but there were no weddings or events in the area,” Talwar said.
Ludhiana MLA and Aam Aadmi Party leader Gurpreet Bassi Gogi visited Talwar at his residence and called for swift action against those responsible.
“This kind of incident must be taken seriously. We demand strict measures,” Gogi said.
CCTV cameras in the area were non-operational between 11 and 11.30 pm on Friday, adding to the complexity of the investigation.
While the police have not ruled out the possibility of an accidental discharge, they are reviewing footage from nearby locations to gather further evidence regarding the case.
