    Description

Vintage 1946 Gibson BR-3 guitar amp. Shipped with UPS ground. Only 78-80 ever made. All stock except for Mojo tone 12” speaker— original Utah speaker sounded horrible so I replaced with the Mojo tone. Shows signs of cosmetic wear being the over 60 years old with tweed cabinet.  Made in post WWii era, it was designed by Chicago company Barnes and Reinecke which made lap steels.  Martin case manufacture Geib hand made the tweed covers cabinet with a green "G" logo.  Power is 12-15 watts, 5Z4 rectifier.  Well-built, rugged, and sounds great.
2 RCA OS 6V6 tubes drive enough power to create overdriven crunchy blues like tone.— I tried it yesterday with a Les Paul goldtop had the amp volume and tone 3/4 ways up with the volume and tone on guitar down and I was getting Eric Clapton -John Mayall Bluesbreakers tone.
Recently serviced and 3 prong power cord installed as well as some capacitors. A great sounding piece of history. I downsizing my collection. I’ve had this for over 25 years. But I need more room in my house.
