    Vintage Advertising Matchbook Flat
    Vintage Advertising Matchbook Cover Flat was never folded or finished as a matchbook, but has been stored in an album since the 1930's or 1940's.  The old matchbook cover features an illustration of a service station, and reads, in part, as follows:

    A flat is a matchbook cover factory stock that never contained matches, and was never machine creased or stapled.  Some have strikers, others do not.  Some may have printed strikers to give the flat more of a matchbook cover-like appearance.  Flats were extremely limited to a small handful in number.  They were typically used as salesman's samples, and for that reason are quite scarce.
    The Vintage Advertising Matchbook Flat is in Very Good to Excellent Unused Condition, with little wear noted from many years of past storage.  HOWEVER, NOTED FOR ACCURACY ONLY IS SCRAPBOOK PAPER AFFIXED TO THE REVERSE SIDE DUE TO HAVING BEEN STORED IN AN ALBUM FOR MANY YEARS.  Please see accompanying photographs.
