    Description

I bought this amp first hand from Bruce Watkin, the bass player of Depps band The Hollywood Vampires. The Amp Tech who worked on it for Johnny and Bruce checked out the amp and loved it. I made him an offer because I needed it after I heard what it sounded like haha. It's an incredible vintage amp. Since Covid has killed live playing and jobs, I have to sell it to pay bills. If you are interested please contact me and, I will send a video for sound and more pictures. Thank you!
    Johnny Depp
formed a band in 2015 called the Hollywood Vampires. Between 2015 and 2017, Depp primarily used this Magnatone Lyric amplifier at his band’s rehearsals. The amplifier is widely believed to have been built in 1953. The amplifier is in great shape and original condition, with an updated leather strap handle. Most importantly, the amplifier still contains its original speaker. This particular model of amplifier is quite unique as Magnatone only produced this design from 1953 to 1955. Near the end of 1955 Magnatone produced a new amplifier with upgraded engineering technology. However, the older amplifiers made between 1953 and 1955, before the upgrade, produce a vintage warmer sound. This warmer tone is generally regarded as more pleasing to the player, which is why these models are highly sought after. Magnatone Lyric Professional Model 115 Model Tube Amplifier likely made in 1953. Serial # 40043 Height of 16 1/2 in. (41.9 cm.), 20 7/16 in. (51.9 cm.) width, and 9 1/2 in. (24.1 cm.
