Port-Powered RS232 to RS485 Converter Adapter for Long Haul Serial Data Communication
For having a PC in charge of controlling a given process, this passive bi-directional RS-232 to RS-485 converter allows to interface your devices using an RS-232 communication link to an RS-485 link and vice-versa,  for long haul data acquisition and control applications.
600W double lightning surge protection and 15KV static protection to protect your value devices against high voltage spikes.

Double Protection
A built-in transient voltage suppressor (TVS) provides 600W double lightning surge protection over RS485 link (so you will get double protection against the lightning strike), and 15KV static protection over RS232 link effectively protecting your value devices against high voltage spikes created by either by static electricity or by surges in the supply voltage.
Simple Operation
Featuring ADDC (Automatic Data Direction Control) can detect the incoming/outgoing data and automatically switch into the send / receive mode, and you don't have to worry about the data collision problems.
with RS485 2 wire system, it only requires three lines (RX, TX and GND) to get a RS232 to RS485 conversion, making it great for troubleshooting your serial system, fully plug and play.
Up to 32 devices can be connected on one network to communicate over a single pair of wires (plus a ground wire), so you can connect multiple RS485 devices to one computer without repeater.

For RS-485 communication, no matter how many converter you use, the correct connection should be: connecting all the A+ outputs together, and connecting all the B- outputs together.
