Description
This Listing is For aConley Model XV (1910 sears catalog) Long Focus Revolving Back + Case, Plates, Tripod, Accessories...
Conditions vary wildly depending on the items. See below and refer to the photos.
While all the accessories are according to their condition functional some of the devloping products have long ago expired and are collectibles or conversation pieces for display only. Use your common sense.
The playing card on photo 2 is a standard 2.5 by 3.5 inches.
Check the camera at - http://www.piercevaubel.com/cam/catalogsconley&sears.htm - it is page 28 of the 1910 catalog. The lens is page 6 and 7.
The accessories are visible in the 1914 catalog. scrowl toward the end for the accessories.
The Camera:
Very Good Condition Overall.
- The Shutter (it is a 2 steps "safety" shutter) works perfectly and smoothly.
- The lens is clear defect or cloudiness/fungus.
- All the command buttons on the lens work smootly and perfectly.
- The thumb screws for tilting, swiveling, sliding, extending the lens as well as these functions work perfectly.
- The buttons to operate the camera front and back are fully operational.
- The red leather bellows is very good and a dark room check did reveal a few (3 or 4) tiny pinholes. They are few and very small and will not be an issue. The "leather eyelet" on top of the bellows is missing and a repair patch has been installed most likely to repair a tear where the eyelet once was.
- The leather and the mahogany wood with "piano finish" are excellent.
- Of the two slinding hinges on the front the right one tend to slide out a bit when closing. Just push it back a bit before closing. It is just a bit finicky...
- The revolving back and all the back functions works perfect.
Overall a very good condition camera!
The case leather is old and damaged.
The plates and holders are excellent.
The focusing cloth is very worn and dusty.
The lamp is poor.
The printing frames are very good. One is with glass and the other without.
Of the developing trays one is very good and the other one is poor.
The "graduates" are very good.
The folding negative rack is very good.

This is the
Condition Grade
I use:
-
Mint
: It is what it says - It looks like it just got out of manufacturing.
Near Mint
can be used if the item is just shy of looking brand new.
-
Excellent
: Just a few very minor flaws or damage mostly visible following a detailed inspection.
-
Very Good
: Some minor cosmetic damage or markings here and there but fully functional and looks great to a rapid inspection.
-
Good
: More widespread imperfections and damage but still working as intended.
-
Fair
: Damage all around and with some minor issues affecting the function of the item unless otherwise mentioned.
-
Poor
: Not working properly and in need of some repair along with important cosmetic damages.
-
For Parts/As Is
:
Self explanatory but unless "Absolutely No Return On This One" is specified in the listing, "For Parts/As Is" still benefits of 30 days FREE return.
Additional Comments of the Condition Grade:
The standards to be Excellent or Mint are so high than most items I sell are Good or Very Good. In case of doubt or bordeline condition I always downgrade the condition.
No "Working Condition", "Vintage Condition" or "Used Condition" which mean very little if anything.
Used Condition is only utilized in opposition to New, ie, if it is not New then it is Used. After that you must refer to the Condition Grade above for the Condition of the Used item.
Mint does not mean it is New but that it
looks like
New. Hence a Mint item will be classified as Used in the eBay pre-set condition grade at the top of the listing.
At time I will separate the Condition of an Item and of its Box when the gap is too great between them. Often the result of the Box having performed its duty by protecting the item over the years at some cost for it.
