Here is an early 50's (1954?) Magnatone Varsity Deluxe model 108 guitar amp. It was made by the Magna Electronics Co. of Inglewood, CA. This was a rival amp to the Fender Champ and used the same type configurations. It is in its original case which is in sad shape. The covering is stained and coming off and the wood is coming apart on one side. It is missing the leather handle and the back cover as well. The front speaker grille cloth is in good shape.
The good news is that I completely went through the electronics and rebuilt the amplifier. I did not replace original parts if they were good. Resistors are all within 10% if used and new if not. It has one ceramic safety cap and the rest are all new metal film types. It has new filters, new jacks, new fuse holder and a 3-wire grounded cord for safety. I replaced all the tubes with vintage RCA types, The 6V6GT was replaced by a vintage RCA 6V6GTY which is rated at 5.5 watts as opposed to the original at 4.5 watts in single ended use. It has the original power transformer, but the output transformer was replaced at some time in its life. I kept it in as it sounds good. The 8" speaker is original as well and has very good bass response.
This would make a nice restoration project if you are good with recovering cases, otherwise it plays fine as is!
I have no reserve on this little amp and the buyer will pay actual shipping costs by USPS. It will be double boxed and I do not charge for safe packing and handling.
